Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms of Service (these "Terms") is to set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of UROGYN Woman Clinic (유로진여성의원; the "Clinic") and users in connection with the use of the services provided on the website operated by the Clinic (the "Website").

Article 2 (Definitions)

The terms used in these Terms have the following meanings.

  • 1. "Website" means the website operated by the Clinic to provide medical information, receive consultation requests, and for similar purposes.
  • 2. "User" means a member or non-member who accesses the Website and uses the services in accordance with these Terms.
  • 3. "Member" means a person who has registered as a member on the Website and has been assigned a user ID.
  • 4. "Non-member" means a person who uses the services without registering as a member.
  • 5. "Post" means any text, photo, video, file, or link that a user uploads to the Website.

Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of These Terms)

① The Clinic posts the contents of these Terms, together with the Clinic's business name, representative, address, telephone number, and business registration number, on the Website so that users can easily view them.

② The Clinic may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate Korea's Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions or other applicable laws.

③ When the Clinic amends these Terms, it will post a notice on the Website, stating the effective date and the reasons for the amendment, at least 7 days before the effective date. If an amendment is unfavorable to users, the notice will be posted at least 30 days before the effective date, and members will also be notified individually by email or other means.

④ If, when giving notice under Paragraph 3, the Clinic has clearly informed members that failure to express refusal by the effective date will be deemed consent, and a member does not express refusal by that date, the member is deemed to have consented to the amended Terms. A member who does not agree to the amended Terms may withdraw from membership.

Article 4 (Services)

The Clinic provides the following services on the Website.

  • 1. Information on the Clinic's medical specialties, procedures, and surgeries
  • 2. Receipt of online consultations and cost inquiries
  • 3. Receipt of requests for self-assessments, before-and-after photos, and similar services
  • 4. Clinic news, such as announcements, events, and videos
  • 5. Member bulletin boards and other services determined by the Clinic

Article 5 (Nature of Medical Information)

① Information on medical care, procedures, and conditions on the Website is general guidance provided to aid understanding and does not substitute for diagnosis or treatment of an individual's condition.

② Results, recovery periods, and side effects of surgeries and procedures may vary depending on each individual's condition. Whether to undergo treatment and which method to use must be decided only after an examination by medical staff.

③ Information on costs and events on the Website is for reference only, and actual costs may vary depending on examination results and treatment details. Fees for non-covered services can be found on the Price List (non-covered service fees) page of the Website.

Article 6 (Nature of Online Consultations)

① Responses to online consultations and cost inquiries are reference information based solely on what the user has written and submitted, and do not constitute medical care under Korea's Medical Service Act.

② An accurate diagnosis and treatment method are determined only after you visit the Clinic and are examined by medical staff.

③ In an emergency or if your symptoms are severe, do not wait for a response to your online consultation; contact a nearby medical institution or call 119.

④ Responses to consultations may be delayed depending on the Clinic's workload.

Article 7 (Changes to and Suspension of Services)

① The Clinic may change the content of the services as necessary for operational or technical reasons, in which case it will notify users in advance on the Website of the changes and their effective date.

② The Clinic may temporarily suspend the services in the event of inspection, replacement, or failure of information and communications equipment, communication outages, or similar causes. In such cases, the Clinic will give prior notice, but may give notice afterward if there are unavoidable circumstances.

③ The Clinic is not liable for damages incurred by users due to changes to or suspension of services provided free of charge. However, this does not apply if the damages result from the Clinic's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 8 (Membership Registration)

① A user applies for membership by entering member information in the registration form provided by the Clinic and agreeing to these Terms and to the collection and use of personal information.

② The Clinic may decline an application, or terminate the service agreement even after accepting it, if the application falls under any of the following:

  • 1. The applicant has used another person's name or information without authorization
  • 2. The applicant has entered false required information
  • 3. The applicant previously lost membership status for violating these Terms

③ A child under the age of 14 must obtain the consent of a legal representative to register as a member.

④ If the information entered at registration changes, the member must update it directly on the Website or notify the Clinic. The member bears any disadvantage arising from failure to do so.

Article 9 (Membership Withdrawal and Restrictions)

① A member may withdraw at any time through the membership withdrawal menu on the Website, and the Clinic will process the withdrawal without delay in accordance with applicable laws.

② If a member falls under any of the following, the Clinic may restrict or suspend the membership:

  • 1. The member entered false information when applying for membership
  • 2. The member interfered with another person's use of the services or misappropriated another person's information
  • 3. The member engaged in conduct prohibited by law or by these Terms

③ If the Clinic terminates a membership, it will notify the member and, before deleting the registration, give the member an opportunity to explain within a period of at least 7 days.

④ Even after a member withdraws, information that must be retained under applicable laws, such as medical records, will be retained for the required period.

Article 10 (Notices to Members)

① The Clinic may notify members by the email address, mobile text message, or other contact registered by the member.

② When notifying an unspecified large number of members, the Clinic may post the notice on the Website for at least 7 days in lieu of individual notice. However, matters that significantly affect members will be notified individually.

Article 11 (Protection of Personal Information)

① The Clinic protects users' personal information in accordance with applicable laws. Matters concerning the collection, use, retention, and destruction of personal information and the Chief Privacy Officer are governed by the Privacy Policy on the Website.

② Health-related information received through online consultations, self-assessments, and similar services constitutes sensitive information (health and medical information) under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). The Clinic obtains the user's separate consent when receiving it.

③ The Clinic does not collect resident registration numbers on the Website.

Article 12 (Obligations of the Clinic)

① The Clinic does not engage in conduct prohibited by law or by these Terms and strives to provide the services continuously and reliably.

② The Clinic maintains a security system to keep users' personal information safe.

③ If the Clinic finds that an opinion or complaint raised by a user is justified, it will address it without delay. If it is difficult to address immediately, the Clinic will inform the user of the reason and the schedule for handling it.

④ When advertising medical services on the Website, the Clinic complies with the Medical Service Act and other applicable laws.

Article 13 (Management of User ID and Password)

① Members are responsible for managing their user ID and password and must not allow any other person to use them.

② If a member becomes aware that their user ID or password has been stolen or is being used by another person, the member must immediately notify the Clinic and follow the Clinic's instructions.

③ The Clinic is not liable for any disadvantage arising from a member's failure to notify the Clinic under Paragraph 2 or to follow the Clinic's instructions. However, this does not apply if the Clinic has acted willfully or negligently.

Article 14 (Obligations of Users)

Users must not engage in any of the following:

  • 1. Entering false information when applying or making changes
  • 2. Misappropriating another person's information
  • 3. Altering information posted on the Website without the Clinic's permission
  • 4. Infringing the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of the Clinic or third parties
  • 5. Defaming the Clinic or third parties or interfering with their business
  • 6. Posting obscene or violent content or any other information contrary to public order and good morals
  • 7. Using the Website for commercial advertising without the Clinic's permission
  • 8. Distributing malicious programs or interfering with the normal operation of the Website

Article 15 (Management of Posts)

① The user who uploaded a post is responsible for that post.

② The Clinic may suspend or delete a post if it falls under any of the following:

  • 1. It discloses another person's personal information or private life
  • 2. It constitutes medical advertising prohibited under the Medical Service Act
  • 3. It defames another person or infringes another person's rights
  • 4. It violates Article 14

③ A person who claims that their rights have been infringed by a post may request the Clinic to suspend the post, and the Clinic will handle the request in accordance with applicable laws.

Article 16 (Copyright)

① The copyright in Website content created by the Clinic, such as text, photos, and videos, belongs to the Clinic.

② Users must not reproduce, distribute, or transmit Website content or use it for commercial purposes without the Clinic's prior permission.

③ The copyright in a post uploaded by a user belongs to that user. The Clinic may use posts to the extent necessary to operate the Website and will obtain the user's consent to use them for any other purpose.

Article 17 (Links to External Services)

① The Website contains links to external services such as YouTube, Naver Booking, and KakaoTalk Channel.

② External services are operated by their respective providers, and their use is governed by those providers' terms and privacy policies. The Clinic is not responsible for anything that occurs on external services.

Article 18 (Limitation of Liability)

① The Clinic is not liable if it is unable to provide the services due to force majeure, such as natural disasters, war, or suspension of service by a facilities-based telecommunications carrier.

② The Clinic is not liable for any disruption of service use or damages caused by reasons attributable to the user.

③ The Clinic has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising through the services between users or between a user and a third party, and is not liable to compensate for damages resulting from such disputes.

④ Notwithstanding Paragraphs 1 through 3, the Clinic is liable if damages are caused to a user by the Clinic's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 19 (Dispute Resolution)

① The Clinic strives to reflect legitimate opinions and complaints raised by users and to address any resulting damages.

② For disputes concerning infringement of personal information, users may apply for mediation or consultation to the organizations listed in the Privacy Policy.

③ For medical disputes, users may apply for mediation to the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency under Korea's Act on Remedies for Injuries from Medical Malpractice and Mediation of Medical Disputes.

Article 20 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

① These Terms are interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.

② If a lawsuit is filed over a dispute between the Clinic and a user, the court having jurisdiction under Korea's Civil Procedure Act shall have jurisdiction.

Addendum

These Terms take effect on the date the Website is launched.
