Yang Gwi-bi Surgery, also called myeonggi surgery, is a vaginoplasty that uses silicone beads to give a flat vaginal wall more contour.

We decide where the beads go according to the length and width of the vagina, and insert them in even numbers, two or four at a time. The size needed is chosen from a range between 3 mm and 17 mm, and the beads can be removed if necessary. It is done under sedation, takes about 30 minutes, and you go home the same day.

AFTERCARE

After Yang Gwi-bi Surgery

  1. The day after surgery

    Start sitz baths from the next day.

    • In a basin of lukewarm (slightly cool) water deep enough to cover your bottom, dissolve cleansing solution (Clinosan) about the size of a 500-won coin, and take a 10-minute sitz bath morning and evening. It is best to continue for two weeks.
    • Medicine is prescribed for 5 to 7 days. If you have heartburn, retching or nausea, stop at once and call us.

  2. 2 to 3 days

    You may have pain at the surgical site.

    If there is bleeding, contact us straight away.

  3. After 1 week

    Use Gyno-Betadine vaginal pessaries.

    From one week after surgery, use Gyno-Betadine vaginal pessaries, and wear a panty liner as the pessaries may cause discharge.

  4. Weeks 2 and 4

    You will need to visit the clinic for a progress check.

    The visit date may change depending on your condition.

  5. 4 to 6 weeks

    Sex is possible 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, once the doctor has checked your condition.

  6. Daily life

    Please keep to these in daily life.

    • No alcohol, smoking, public baths or saunas for four weeks. You may shower from the next day.
    • Avoid anything that puts stimulation or pressure on the surgical site (touching it directly, strenuous exercise, squatting, lifting heavy loads and so on). The inserted beads could come out.

  7. Call us if

    Call the clinic if you have a strong burning feeling, chills, itching, pain, swelling or hives.
